I took the Chengdu train with my partner to Xinjiang, starting from Chengdu Anjing Station on the Xinjiang Ring Road. You can board the train halfway through Lanzhou and return to Chengdu. The whole journey takes 16 days, and you can enjoy it all without rushing. My favorite part is the section of the Duku Highway. On the 7th and 8th days, I crossed the southern and middle sections of the Duku Highway from Kuche to Nalati. The 190 kilometer journey can see three types of landforms: snow capped mountains, grasslands, and canyons. Checking in at Tieli Maiti Daban is very memorable. We played on the Nalati Grassland for 5 hours, rode horses, and took pictures of the sunset, and the romantic feeling was fully realized!
The Chengdu route is perfect for us elderly people! The itinerary within Xinjiang covers both southern and northern Xinjiang, without the need to turn back, saving time and effort. The pace of the itinerary is very slow, with a daily travel time of basically 1-3 hours, and there is no high-intensity rush. Scenic spots such as Karez and Aitigar Mosque have sufficient time to slowly explore, and the tour guide's explanations are also detailed. On the 5th day, we went to the Pamir Plateau. Considering the health of the elderly, we specifically reminded those over 65 years old with underlying diseases to choose rest, which is very thoughtful. Natural attractions such as Nalati and Lake Selim have observation decks with ultra wide windows, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery on dedicated trains. The Reading Tea Bar is suitable for us to sit quietly and drink tea without crowding crowds. We learned about the Chengdu number on the foot travel special train, and they have 24-hour customer service. If there are any questions, the customer service will patiently answer them.
I just took Wa on this special train, which lasted 16 days. The starting point was Chengdu Anjing Station, and the main journey was in Xinjiang. The ending point was back to Chengdu, and it would stop in Lanzhou. The route was super classic. In short, it was along the Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway to Turpan and Kashi, followed by the Duku Highway to Bayinbuluke and Nalati, and finally to Hemu and Kanas, connecting the most elite scenic spots in Xinjiang! You can also take a look at the detailed introduction on the foot sports tourism special train. It lists all the places where the Chengdu Panda special train goes, making it clear at a glance. The itinerary is arranged very reasonably and there is no rush. There will also be activities such as Sichuan Opera Face Changing, Panda Sending Blessings, and Chuan Machu Experience on the special train.
